The Joint Commission Compliance Programs
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards require building owners to have some egress doors and all fire and smoke doors inspected and tested annually.
The FireCheck® Program addresses a building owner’s legal obligation to properly maintain such doors. Certification of openings includes visual inspection, testing, and a comprehensive report that complies with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission regulations.
